Hilrace sachet is used to treat acute diarrhea in children and adults. Hilrace contains racecadotril, which decreases the secretion of water and electrolytes into the colon, as opposed to other opioid drugs such as loperamide, which lower intestinal motility.
Additionally, it has been discovered to be better tolerated than loperamide, resulting in fewer cases of constipation and flatulence because of its anti-secretory mode of action.
